ChinaHop

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of ChinaHop ("we") handles your information when you use ChinaHop.

1. Information we collect

Your email address and hashed password; device model; the VPN public key generated for your device and its assigned internal address; the time of your first connection; subscription status and expiry; each device's usage volume (total data uploaded and downloaded, summarized by hour) and most recent connection time; read status of in-app messages; and, when you send a support request, what you write, any screenshots, and your device and system details. See "Data We Collect" for details.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not log the websites, apps, or traffic content you access through the VPN, and we do not read your location, contacts, or photos.

3. How we use information

To provide and maintain the VPN service; to manage accounts, device slots, and subscriptions; to calculate the free trial and prevent abuse; to understand how the service is used and troubleshoot connection problems; to send you service-related in-app messages; and to handle support requests.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Information is processed by third parties only as follows: Apple (in-app purchases, DeviceCheck); RevenueCat (which manages in-app subscription status and receives your account ID, purchase history, and technical information such as your IP address, but not your email); Resend (which delivers emails such as verification codes and processes your email address); payment providers (to process payments); ipinfo.io (which sees your public IP address when the home screen map looks up your location); the cloud providers hosting our servers; and where required by law.

5. Retention

We keep your account and device information while your account exists. When you delete your account, the account, devices, sign-in credentials, usage volume, and subscription records are permanently deleted, and we ask RevenueCat to delete its corresponding record. Database backups are kept for up to 14 days, after which the data is gone from them too. Two exceptions: the marker that "this device has used a free trial" is held by Apple and is not removed with your account (it contains nothing that identifies you); and emails you sent to support remain in our support mailbox until you ask us to delete them.

6. Your rights

In the app you can view and remove devices, change your password, and delete your account. To access or correct other information, contact us.

7. Security

Passwords are stored in hashed form, and communication between the app and our servers is encrypted. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Children

This service is not intended for children.

9. Changes

If we update this policy, we will notify you in the app. Continuing to use the service means you accept the updated policy.
